I just recently had a bad manicure at the Bliss Spa at the new W Hotel in downtown Atlanta.
The pampered indulgence I ordered from their spa menu was “the manly-cure,” a 30 minute hand treatment and manicure marketed to men for $25.
Five of my fingers were nipped with a cuticle nipper by a trained technician to the point of bleeding; that’s pretty bad!
This experience just goes to show that even established brands often offer sub par and shoddy service. A manicure should be painless if done well.
Lesson Learned
When seeking a professional manicure (so I’ve learned the hard way), I would recommend calling the spa ahead of time to ensure you’re booked with the most experienced manicurist. The person who worked on my hands was new.
